Subject: Brent in my hotel room until 6am
They did a soundcheck I heard in late morning, and I know Brent was wide awake in my room at The Biltmore around 6am, so I dont know if he got any sleep that day, but that show was hot!

Subject: LOVED this show
I echo the other folks who had a spectacular time at this show. Mighty Quinn was a totally awesome end to a great show. I remember being up on the side for this show and being bounced in the air at times from everyone else rockin out. Felt that way, anyhow. :)

Subject: Listening to Lots of '87 -- This Doesn't Stand Out
I am a Big fan of '87 -- an overlooked year. That said, this is a nice show but hardly one of the best of the year -- nothing extraordinary. Good crowd energy; fine Brent moments, especially in the first set.

Go to many more higher energy sizzling shows in the Spring and Summer of '87 for the best of the year. A nice but ordinary China>Rider; strong China Doll. A good show -- 3 stars in the context of the mid to late 80s.

Great Show!!
So good I had to listen to it twice, back to back.
The audience is great to hear and add to the shows energy. The set list is right on.
A must for your collection.

bridgland said it all. The energy level for the second verse of Good Golly Ms. Molly was off the charts. Fall tour, w/the speakers in the halls was about as much fun as it got, and this show had a ton of energy.

Subject: A Great Brent show
As others have noted, this is a great Brent show - so if you're a Brent fan, this is a must have. Pocky Way, Blue Dress>Good Golly, Gimme Some Lovin', and just outstanding playing all night from Mr. Mydland. Also, this show is a reminder (for me) of the bigger picture: the Dead were on a steady upward proggression from Jerry's return from the coma (12/86) until Brent's death (7/90). This marks about one year since the comeback and the boys are really starting to get into a great groove. The jams are still too short and things aren't nearly as inspired as 89-90, but this show does have hints of what's to come. I think this show gets my nomination for second best show of 1987 (first undoubtedly being Kingswood 6/30).

nothing ive ever seen will compare to this show. Speakers every 10 ft in the hallway. Iremember seeing cops lookin very high dancing in the halls, we left this show in tears it was so increadible. 15 minute not fade away chant, good goly and quin. wow wow wow and check out the jack opener

If you are partial to Brent, this is your kind of show as he steps forward in a big way. First Pockey Way and a steam rollin' Blue Dress > Good Golly > Blue Dress knocked the faithful on their ass. Those northeast shows in the mid to late eighties were loud and very intense. Providence and PC were great hosts for many years of dead hijinx.

Top notch performance all around, especially from the man on the keys. Brent featured all night. The Good golly and hey pocky way breakouts make the night sweet. Always loved china doll>drums. In my opinion, the best Jack Straw and cassidy I ever heard or saw. Both will rip your heads off.

Subject: FUN FUN FUN
What a fun show this was. It comes across on this AUD. I remember thinking Brent was going to explode at times! This was truly a spectacular night for him. 5 for performance, 3-4 for the slightly less than superb AUD....Aw, get it anyway! It's just a fun, fun listen.
